Alcohol Ink Fun with Wendy Vecchi!

Happy Halloween bloggers!! On top of celebrating Halloween, how's this fun fact? Today the 7 BILLIONTH person was born into our population!! Our phenomenal Mother Earth sure has a full house now!

First, let me start out announcing our blog candy winners from the weekend! Lots of lucky people!
From Friday's blog Wrap It With 7 Gypsies Paper: Sue Bridges from Maine!
From Saturday's blog Capture A Week: Maryann!
From Sunday's blog Spellbinding Spellbinders with Christine Urias: Rachel W K!
If you're a winner that's listed- please email Fran@SimonSaysStamp.com with the title of the blog you won from, and your shipping info! Congrats everyone!!

Today I have a marvelous video from the EVER clever and imaginative Wendy Vecchi! Her blog, Studio 490, has a lovely voice with tons of inviting projects for everyone to try! The technique video I'm about to share with you is just a sample of how awesome the ideas are that come from the Studio 490 blog- definitely check it out!

AH! I just love this! Wendy's initial drive for this was to experiment with Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks on Kraft Glassine Envelopes for a verdigris/rusty look. Man, oh man did that experimentation lead to a great place!
She took two lighter color Alcohol Inks (Cloudy Blue and Juniper) and the Snow Cap Alcohol Ink Mixative, mixed them on the Ink Blending Tool, and dabbed them all over the Kraft Glassine Envelope. After some crumpling and crinkling, a little heat, and some additional color touch ups- this is the result!

Isn't that a great gift card holder idea? Such a different project! Thanks for sharing your project, and voice Wendy!

To win today's blog candy of an Amuse wood stamp with Santa's hat on it, just join our blog following.. comment your thoughts on the Wendy video, and you could win!!!

Thanks for reading today, hope you enjoyed the video, and Happy Birthday to the 7 Billionth member of Earth!

Capture a Week!

Hello bloggers!

I have a fun idea to share with you today from the Design Blog of KI Memories! KI Memories whole motto is to "Celebrate Life", and this idea really does encourage the process of doing just that!

Recently, a KI Memories Challenge was to Capture a Week. The concept is to write down some memories, take some pictures, or pull pictures you've taken in the past to fill in the ideas of your current week. Then, make either a little book, or display project of your week! Especially with the holidays sneaking up on us, these weeks will be full of memories!

How cute is this inspiration example KI Memories gave? Use a calendared background, or punch a background into a shape that pops, then fill in the rest! I love the use of the Puffies on here that are mixed in with the pictures!

If you're doing a lot of traveling towards the end of this year, you could use the Travel Puffies to add in your project! I love the blue color scheme with these!

The kids just recently went back to school, which means tons of new projects, Parent-Teacher conferences, tests, and homework! Maybe those have left important marks on your week - and these School Puffies would do great to accent that!

The KI Memories blog also mentioned adding one of their Pockets to the back of your "Capture a Week" project to keep scraps and little mementos from the week.

The Pockets come in two different sizes, this one shown is Poppy! The ones like Poppy are a set of 4, 5 inch x 5 inch Pockets. There are smaller Pockets that come in a set of 6, 3 inch x 3 inch Pockets.

Here's an example of the smaller Pockets- plus I just wanted to show off how HOT these Zebra Pockets are! I just love the pattern!!

Another great tip for KI Memories is, is that the packaging the products comes in is always in a fun pattern. KI Memories often encourages on their blog that you use the packaging in your products too!!

Thanks for reading today!
I have some BLOG CANDY to give out now!!
If you join our following and comment on today's blog.. you could win this Amuse Holiday stamp!

Have a great day!
