Inky hands? SCRUBBIE to the Rescue!

Every crafter needs a Scrubbie! Most know to get your manicure AFTER making your crafts but this little beauty cleans you up nicely! ;)

The Inkssentials Craft Scrubbie cleaning bar is the gentle but effective way to easily remove inks, paints, glues, and mediums from your hands. Used with liquid soap and water, the Craft Scrubbie makes quick clean up after a crafting session of inked-up, paint-stained or glue-covered hands.

*Gentle, effective hand scrubber (or cleaner)
*Convenient smooth, rounded shape
*Removes many types of craft mediums
*Use with liquid soap and water
*Craft Scrubbie measures 2½" x 3" x 1"

Now there are no reasons for fears to get "inky"...you have a SCRUBBIE!!

Nancy
used the Tim Holtz Sanding Grip and some Creative Scraps & stamps by Crafty Secrets, such as the Halloween Double.

Terry used Timepieces by Tim Holtz for the metal clocks in the top right corner - definitely a set worth getting!

Did You Know?

Bird Assortment

Did You Know: that clear stamps can turn bright yellow when they are exposed to fluorescent lights? While picking the Bird Assortment set for someone's order we found a set that was bright yellow!! Heidi said that when they are put in sunlight, they turn back to clear, so we did a little science experiment. It works!! Moral of the story: if your clear stamps turn yellow and you want them to be clear again, put them in the sunlight!

Did You Know: that Hero Arts Latte cards make for an attractive alternative - especially for Autumn & Winter-themed cards? I've gotten bored with plain white cardstock and have fallen in love with Hero Arts Latte Cards. The card above is one that I made in a class we got to take here at Simon Says Stamp (woohoo!). Materials: Huge Hugs clear stamp set, Copic Markers, Latte Cards, Friend Definition cling Stamp, Sunshine Layering Papers, & the Antique Engravings clear stamp set.

Want to win some Hero Arts Latte Cards as blog candy? Comment with a "Did you know" of your own!! I'll announce the winner on my next blog!

Did You Know: That you can customize gemstones with Copic Markers to make them match what you're working on? That's what I did on the butterfly card up above!

Did You Know: We carry Flying Doves and Bird Nests so that you have the option of making wreaths or adding something special to a flower arrangement? At Simon Says Stamp, we strive to have a variety of items so that you can not only find what you need for scrapbooking and card making, but for any project you're working on! Keep the nest as is, or pull it apart to use small parts of it for smaller projects - maybe you'd like a realistic Bird Nest for a "Welcome to the Neighborhood" card you're making?
Did You Know that Crafter's Companion has a Stick & Spray adhesive that is great with Unmounted Rubber Stamps? You can spray an acrylic block with Stick & Spray, adhere your Unmounted Stamp, stamp away, and then peel off the stamp so you can use the block for other projects! How cool is that?!

Thanks for tuning in! Don't forget to comment if you want some Blog Candy!!!

Popcorn the Bear, Pretty Creations by Bev!

Today we have some cards made by our friend Bev to help inspire you! She used a bunch of new UM Crafter's Companion stamps! You rock, Bev!

School Days

Gotta love the apple shape of this one! And the fact that cute Popcorn Bear takes his blankie to school! Bev used the EK Success punch called Binding Edge. The paper that she used for the leaf and stem look a lot like Core'dinations paper. I like the So Mod pack personally, but we also just got Jenni Bowlin packs. The awesome thing about Core'dinations papers is that you can sand them and reveal a lighter color or change their slight texture to smooth!!

Wedding Day

A good thing about Crafter's Companion stamp sets is that they usually come with sentiments! The Wedding Day set has one that says, "On Your Wedding Day," (which Bev used on the inside of the card). If you want smooth coloring like Bev's I suggest Copic Markers - particularly the Colorless Blender (it helps lighten up certain areas so that the different colors can blend). They are super fun! You can also custom make your own colors using the Empty Sketch and filling it with various refills.

A Gift For You

This little cutie is from the Popcorn the Bear Set Called A Gift for You. Popcorn truly is an adorable bear, isn't he? Thank goodness that Crafter's Companion created him! I love the punch that Bev used too - it's called Lace Heart. Those red pins that she used are a lot like Jenni Bowlin's stick pins in Garnet. Need some red roses? Try Prima's Trellis Roses in Coral Rose. A little tip: to color the edges like Bev did, use Tim Holtz's Fillable Pen Marker and an ink, like Ranger's Archival Ink Refill in Russet.

Special Couple

This adorable Ducky is named Souffle and he is Popcorn the Bear's friend. The image is from the Special Couple stamp. If you want to make a heart background like Bev's grab some cream card stock (like DCWV's La Creme Solid), some tan ink (like Tim Holtz's Walnut Stain) and a heart outline stamp (like the Heart Flutter set by Inkadinkado)

Celebrate

I love how bright this card is, don't you? Bev used the Celebrate stamp set by Crafter's Companion (it came with the "Celebrate" sentiment too!). The punch she used is a lot like the Martha Stewart punch called Holiday Lattice. EK Success has one like it too, called Lattice Chain. I love the floral pink paper she used, too! For a close call, check out DCWV Cardstock in Garden Party.

Special thanks to Bev for all of the inspiration!!! Your cards are gorgeous!

Inspiration by Penny Black & Jay Jay!

Our friend Jay Jay has sent us some wonderful cards to use for inspiration - we are so lucky!! Isn't this one cute? She used the Back-Seat Witch stamp by Penny Black! Like the orange glittery outline? Try Orange Peel Stickles by Ranger. The sentiment is from the Best Witches stamp (also a Penny Black).

This creation (also by Jay Jay as they all are!!) uses an image called Coming Your Way by Penny Black. The papers are by Basic Grey and are from the Eskimo Kisses pack. Want to color your own poinsettia? Check out Prima's new Innoscence Playful flowers! That cute ribbon tag can be found in the Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio.

I love this image! It's called To A Full Stocking. I love the Pine Needles punch by Martha Stewart that she used for the foliage (it's also used in the card above!). Want to find poinsettias like this one? Check out Poinsettias by Prima & Tim Holtz! Also by Tim Holtz is the Retro Grunge Paper Pack (it has striped paper similar to that above). We just got Bo Bunny's new paper pad called Noel!

This image is Welcome Party by Penny Black. Want some unique red and green flowers? I am in love with Maya Road's Velvet Point Blossoms Red & Green. Want to make scalloped oval frames like Jay Jay's? Try Classic Scalloped Ovals in small.

Thanks for tuning in! Hopefully this has helped get the inspiration flowing! Happy Crafting!
